What do I bring to the table?
It is easy to wonder why God chooses each of us for a particular purpose. Many people have greater giftings, skills, and experience then they really know. Like a good Father, God chooses to call out the gifts in his children. Ultimately, he loves each and every one of us, and loves to bring out the best in all of us as any good parent desires.
When I was first saved, the Lord began to place a deep desire in my heart to please Him, and even more so, to have the kind of faith that we read about in the Bible. Since then, God has been true to His word, “Ask and it shall be given, seek and it shall be found.” As Proverbs suggested I placed much weight on seeking wisdom and understanding in my walk with Him early on and continue in that quest even now.
God loves and takes great joy in giving us the desires of our hearts. Mine has always been to know Him, to hear His voice, and ultimately to be called “a friend of God”. That process has brought me much insight into the workings of the Kingdom of God especially in the areas of obedience and faith.
God has blessed me with great faith, through trials, tests and tribulations. Faith that has substance and tangible evidence. Faith that shows results. Much more than a simple belief in a deity or greater power.
This is my part in the great assembly of God. But, from the beginning God has chosen many within the body to carry out His plans in the earth.
So what’s your part?
