Faith in Action
Since 2010 The Lord has been speaking to me about the times and season we are living in. The importance in understanding the significance of this season, and knowing how to use that wisdom to truly live out the fullness of His plans for us in it. He has also impressed upon me the need to walk out our Faith in Action, as the ultimate testimony of his redemptive work in us. Ultimately it is our faith, manifested in our daily actions, which stands as the greatest testament to Christ in us. After all His Word says… “Faith without works is dead!” (James 2:20). During this time, the Lord was preparing me to walk out my faith, through the various ministry roles He has called me to. One of which is what we call the “Jamaica Wilderness Refuge“.
My hope in writing this post, is to demonstrate to you my faith by my works, that your faith may be increased. It is easy for anyone to show the fruits of faith which is already manifested. But, none of us get to the end by skipping the beginning. I could easily speak of the testimonies of the many great things which God has already done in my life, but the Lord wants this blog to be different. He desires it to be a living testimony of His work in our lives daily. That work doesn’t begin at the end. It begins at right now, which is the very moment you are at, when you read this.
Today as I write this post, I am struggling to speak about these things. Why? Because, what I am writing about is simply a concept in my mind at this time. A vision yet to be fully manifested. Unlike our farm in Maine, which has already come so far in manifesting in the physical sense, this is simply a picture in my mind which God has given me to carry out. In my mind, I see the project like a blueprint… from start to finish… because God has developed out that image. When God gives us the vision for anything, it is our job to see it out by manifesting our faith through action. This involves a great deal of trust in Him… His promises, word, leading, provision, faithfulness and goodness. All of which are worked out in the very act of walking out His plan for our lives.
Anyone who has walked out a serious faith trial, knows that it is always difficult in the beginning to speak to others what God is saying, because the situations often say the opposite. Take Oral Roberts for example. One day God speaks to him and says “I want you to build a university.” Oral has no means, knowledge, or experience to do so at the time. Yet he knows he has heard the Lord, and knows God is faithful. Today Oral Roberts University (ORU) stands as a testament to one mans great faith.
One day the Lord starts speaking to me about Jamaica…
“You asked me about Jamaica and your ministry there… I want you to go and set my people free. Many are enslaved in bitterness and hate, trapped under the curse of poverty. Set them free son. Tell them there is freedom in Jesus. Tell them that I am El Shaddai, Almighty God. Tell them that I am their provider. Tell them of my grace son.”

It has taken 12 years now for this vision to develop. Line upon line, precept upon precept. A glimpse of this, a picture of that. Slowly the Lord has refined the vision, all the while explaining the why as we went along. Faith can not be manifested until the vision is made clear. The very act of me writing this to you now is the beginning of the manifestation of that faith in action. It took me 12 years to see the vission, and 12 years to build up the faith to write it, but here we are. If you will watch closely now, you will see and perhaps even be a part of that faith manifesting in the natural. Keep in mind, that as I write this, like Oral Roberts, I have no means or resources other than my faith to make it happen. Why am I so confident? Because, God has already proved Himself to me, on more occasions then I can count. So, while this project scares me to the very core, my trust is in Jesus, and by resting in Him, I will see the fulfillment of this work.
Jamaica, a refuge in the storm.
In 2012 my wife and I were in a tiny community church, Grace Temple in Flankers, Montego Bay, Jamaica. During worship, the Lord spoke to me saying, “You are going to come to Jamaica and build a farm and community center.” We had been traveling to Jamaica since 1994, today having made nearly 40 trips to this beautiful island nation. The thought of having a permanent place there was very appealing. Yet God had a much greater plan in mind.

August 2014, while in deep prayer, the Lord gave me a prophet word concerning a coming revival in Jamaica. Not a short lived revival, but the end all revival, which brings in the last days harvest of souls. Jamaica will play a large role in this worldwide revival. But there is still more to the story.
Tribulation on the doorstep.
Over the years, the Lord began to speak to me about the need for places of refuge during the end times tribulation. The Lord is creating Goshens… safe harbors in the coming storms. Places where He can shelter his people during perilous times, like an oasis in the desert… streams in wilderness. The Island of Jamaica is one of these places. While Jamaica will not be spared its own tribulations, it will also be a place where God’s mighty hand shelters His people there. My role in this, is to help people navigate through the waters of tribulation, and establish communities where the kingdom of God can manifest into a true gardens, like Eden.
