Awake Mount Zion

Home » Awake Mount Zion

Awake Mount Zion! It is time to rise from your slumber. For The Lord is calling you to rise up in faith and righteousness. To come out and be separate. To come out into the wilderness to the place He has prepared for you.

The following is excerpted and paraphrased from the NKJV Bible books of Isaiah chapters 40-62 & Hebrews 12 as the Lord led me.

“Comfort My people!” Says your God.

Can you hear the cry? There is a voice shouting, crying from the the wilderness… Prepare the way of the LORD! Make straight a highway in the desert for our God.

O Zion, O Jerusalem, You who bring good tidings, Get up into the high mountain. Lift up your voice with strength. Lift it up, be not afraid. Say to the cities of Judah, “Behold your God!”

Behold, the Lord GOD shall come with a strong hand, And His arm shall rule for Him; Behold, His reward is with Him, And His work before Him. He will feed His flock like a shepherd. He will gather the lambs with His arm, And carry them in His bosom, And gently lead those who are with young.

Fear Not Mount Zion

But now says the LORD, “Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by your name; You are Mine.

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned,
Nor shall the flame scorch you.

Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth.
Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness
And rivers in the desert…To give drink to My people, My chosen.

Yet hear now, O Jacob My servant, And Israel whom I have chosen… Fear not

For I will pour water on him who is thirsty,
And floods on the dry ground;
I will pour My Spirit on your descendants,
And My blessing on your offspring;

They will spring up among the grass
Like willows by the watercourses.’

The redeemed of the Lord

One will say, ‘I am the LORD’s’; Another will call himself by the name of Jacob;
Another will write with his hand, ‘The LORD’s,’ And name himself by the name of Israel.

Remember these… you will not be forgotten by Me!

I have blotted out, like a thick cloud, your transgressions,
And like a cloud, your sins. Return to Me, for I have redeemed you.”

Listen to Me, you who follow after righteousness,
You who seek the LORD:

For the LORD will comfort Zion,
He will comfort all her waste places;
He will make her wilderness like Eden,
And her desert like the garden of the LORD;
Joy and gladness will be found in it,
Thanksgiving and the voice of melody.

“Listen to Me, you who know righteousness,
You people in whose heart is My law:
Do not fear the reproach of men, Nor be afraid of their insults.

(Christ the First Fruits)

Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD!
Awake as in the ancient days, In the generations of old.
Are You not the arm that cut Rahab apart, And wounded the serpent? Are You not the One who dried up the sea? That made the depths of the sea a road
For the redeemed to cross over?

So the ransomed of the LORD shall return, And come to Zion with singing,
With everlasting joy on their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness; Sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

I am the LORD your God, Who divided the sea whose waves roared—
The LORD of hosts is His name. And I have put My words in your mouth;
I have covered you with the shadow of My hand,
That I may plant the heavens,
Lay the foundations of the earth,
And say to Zion, ‘You are My people.’ ”

(Come out of bondage)

Awake Mount Zion!

Awake, awake!
Put on your strength, O Zion; Put on your beautiful garments,
O Jerusalem, the holy city!
For the uncircumcised and the unclean Shall no longer come to you.

Shake yourself from the dust, arise; Sit down, O Jerusalem!
Loose yourself from the bonds of your neck, O captive daughter of Zion!

“You have sold yourselves for nothing, And you shall be redeemed without money.”

“My people went down at first Into Egypt to dwell there; Then the Assyrian oppressed them without cause.

Now therefore, what have I here,” says the LORD, “That My people are taken away for nothing? Those who rule over them Make them wail,” says the LORD, “And My name is blasphemed continually every day.

Therefore My people shall know My name; therefore they shall know in that day That I am He who speaks: ‘Behold, it is I.’ ”

How beautiful upon the mountains Are the feet of him who brings good news,
Who proclaims peace, Who brings glad tidings of good things, Who proclaims salvation, Who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!”

Awake Mount Zion sing praise to God!

Break forth into joy, sing together, You waste places of Jerusalem! For the LORD has comforted His people, He has redeemed Jerusalem.

Sing, O barren, You who have not borne! Break forth into singing, and cry aloud, You who have not labored with child!
For more are the children of the desolate Than the children of the married woman,” says the LORD.

For the LORD has called you Like a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit,
Like a youthful wife when you were refused,” Says your God.

The mountains shall depart And the hills be removed, But My kindness shall not depart from you, Nor shall My covenant of peace be removed,”
Says the LORD, who has mercy on you.

“O you afflicted one, Tossed with tempest, and not comforted,
Behold, I will lay your stones with colorful gems, And lay your foundations with sapphires. I will make your pinnacles of rubies, Your gates of crystal, And all your walls of precious stones.

All your children shall be taught by the LORD, And great shall be the peace of your children.

In righteousness you shall be established;
You shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear;
And from terror, for it shall not come near you.

No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD,
And their righteousness is from Me,”
Says the LORD.

“The Redeemer will come to Zion, And to those who turn from transgression in Jacob,” “As for Me,” says the LORD, “this is My covenant with them: My Spirit who is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your descendants, nor from the mouth of your descendants’ descendants,” says the LORD, “from this time and forevermore.”

Awake Mount Zion your Redeemer Lives!

Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the LORD will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you.

The Gentiles shall come to your light, And kings to the brightness of your rising. “Lift up your eyes all around, and see: They all gather together, they come to you; Your sons shall come from afar, And your daughters shall be nursed at your side.

Then you shall see and become radiant, And your heart shall swell with joy;
Because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you, The wealth of the Gentiles shall come to you.

Rise up and fly Mount Zion

“Who are these who fly like a cloud, And like doves to their roosts?….

(those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31)

Surely the coastlands shall wait for Me; And the ships of Tarshish will come first,
To bring your sons from afar, Their silver and their gold with them, To the name of the LORD your God, And to the Holy One of Israel, Because He has glorified you.

Mount Zion glorified,made beautiful and spotless!

The sons of foreigners shall build up your walls, And their kings shall minister to you; For in My wrath I struck you, But in My favor I have had mercy on you.

Therefore your gates shall be open continually; They shall not be shut day or night, That men may bring to you the wealth of the Gentiles, And their kings in procession.

“The glory of Lebanon shall come to you, The cypress, the pine, and the box tree together, To beautify the place of My sanctuary; And I will make the place of My feet glorious.

Also the sons of those who afflicted you Shall come bowing to you,
And all those who despised you shall fall prostrate at the soles of your feet;
And they shall call you The City of the LORD, Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

“Whereas you have been forsaken and hated, So that no one went through you, I will make you an eternal excellence, A joy of many generations. You shall drink the milk of the Gentiles, And milk the breast of kings; You shall know that I, the LORD, am your Savior And your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

Christ to His Bride, spiritual Mount Zion

The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me,
Because the LORD has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;

To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD,
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn,

To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified.”

And they (The trees of righteosness) shall rebuild the old ruins, They shall raise up the former desolations, And they shall repair the ruined cities, The desolations of many generations.

Strangers shall stand and feed your flocks,
And the sons of the foreigner
Shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.

But you shall be named the priests of the LORD,
They shall call you the servants of our God.
You shall eat the riches of the Gentiles,
And in their glory you shall boast.

Instead of your shame you shall have double honor,
And instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion.
Therefore in their land they shall possess double;
Everlasting joy shall be theirs.

The Fathers response…

“For I, the LORD, love justice; I hate robbery for burnt offering; I will direct their work in truth, And will make with them an everlasting covenant.

Their descendants shall be known among the Gentiles, And their offspring among the people. All who see them shall acknowledge them, That they are the posterity (seed/children) whom the LORD has blessed.”

The Children’s response…

I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, My soul shall be joyful in my God;
For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

Zion’s salvation assurance from The Lord

For Zion’s sake I will not hold My peace, And for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest,
Until her righteousness goes forth as brightness, And her salvation as a lamp that burns. The Gentiles(nations) shall see your righteousness, And all kings your glory. You shall be called by a new name, Which the mouth of the LORD will name.

You shall also be a crown of glory In the hand of the LORD, And a royal diadem
In the hand of your God.

You shall no longer be termed Forsaken, Nor shall your land any more be termed Desolate; But you shall be called Hephzibah (meaning: My delight is in her), and your land Beulah (meaning: to marry) For the LORD delights in you,
And your land shall be married.

(Christ the First Fruits, firstborn of the bride)

For as a young man marries a virgin, So shall your sons marry you;
And as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, So shall your God rejoice over you.

Go through, Go through the gates! Prepare the way for the people;
Build up, Build up the highway! Take out the stones, Lift up a banner for the peoples!

Indeed the LORD has proclaimed To the end of the world:
“Say to the daughter of Zion, ‘Surely your salvation is coming; Behold, His reward is with Him, And His work before Him.’ ”

And they shall call them The Holy People, The Redeemed of the LORD; And you shall be called Sought Out, A City Not Forsaken.

Awake Mount Zion!

For you have not come to the mountain that may be touched and that burned with fire, and to blackness and darkness and tempest, and the sound of a trumpet and the voice of words, so that those who heard it begged that the word should not be spoken to them anymore…

But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant…
