The story behind Fields of Zion International

“The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me,
Because the LORD has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD,
Isaiah 61:1-2 NKJV
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn…
History
Around the beginning of 2010, The Lord began to speak to me of the significance of the season I was living in. At the time I was out of work, and thus spent a great deal of my time seeking and learning everything I could about my Lord Jesus, my Heavenly Father and the Holy Spirit.
One Day I remember well, while enjoying my quiet time with Dad, I was struggling with a personal dilemma. Our new farm here in Maine was beginning to turn from a hobby into a pretty serious venture. We were at a point of having to make some serious decisions in order to go forward. I said to The Lord, “If we were going to go forward with this venture, we needed to give it a name, to make it official for tax and other purposes.” Rather quickly and a little unexpectedly came the simple answer, “Fields Of Zion!”
A Commission
“To you son it has been given the responsibility of leading my children in and through their wilderness tribulation. It is not for you to be responsible for their needs, but instead to help them come to the place of trusting in Me. They must learn to work together, to lean on Me and each other. They must learn to come together as a flock, but some will also learn to lead the flock. Call out to My children son. Tell them it is time to enter into the wedding feast with Me. Show them how and lead the way.”

First Light illuminates the path…
“I want you to teach them my ways, teach them about faith. Teach them the principles I have taught you. Teach them to be strong and courageous. Teach them how to enter into the wilderness by faith. Encourage them with stories of faith and obedience. Teach them to believe for God’s provision and protection. Raise up shepherds!People need to see the real time working of these Faith Projects in action from beginning to end.”

Fields of Zion builds the arks!
Storms are coming! The Lord led me to write our Blog “Build a Boat” to help His people navigate through the coming storms, and to find safe harbors on the other side. There is no doubt that troubled waters lie ahead. In fact, many would agree the storms have already begun. Yet, our God does have a plan… Goshen! Our mission is to build arks…places of refuge. It is in these Goshens, during this end time season, where God will cultivate His crop, the Fields of Zion!
Zion
In these last days the Lord has planted a very large garden, and we as believers are his crop. There are many differing views concerning the meaning of the word Zion from scripture. Many (Zionists) believe it refers to the literal restoration of Jerusalem, as the capitol of God’s holy kingdom on earth. The word Zion is used 153 times in the King James Version, primarily in the prophetic books. But interestingly, Strong’s translates the word to “parched place“.
Since the Lord gave me the name Fields of Zion, I figured He wanted me to have a pretty good understanding of what it means to Him, so I’ve spent years studying it out and seeking His understanding. I have come to believe it has a much deeper symbolical meaning than what is commonly believed. Historically Zion is only a part of Jerusalem, specifically the parts relating to David and government. To me, Zion symbolically represents the leadership, or headship of Jerusalem, under the throne of David, upon which now sits Jesus Christ. Jesus is eternally seated as both King and Priest, upon Davids throne, meaning he holds the authority of leadership over the body of Christ, spiritual Jerusalem. You can read more about Jerusalem and Zion in my book “Awake Mount Zion, A Call to the Remnant Bride.“
To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning,
Isaiah 61:3
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified.”
Today there is a remnant of the Body of Christ who mourns for the establishment of the Kingdom of God on earth. Like the Jews during captivity in Babylon, there are a few who carry such a heavy burden of longing, that they cry for a return to their homeland. Not the physical Jerusalem of old, but the spiritual Kingdom of God manifested in all it’s glory in the earth. A true body of Christ, operating as a fully functional body. These are Gods true appointed leadership for this season, and are in fact being nursed up right now, into these “Trees of Righteousness” that they might bear fruit which glorifies the Lord. Their fruit is the manifestation of the kingdom of God on earth, in power and glory. This remnant represents the First Fruits and Bride of Christ. These will be the first to enter into the gates of spiritual Zion, where Christ resides, but to do so they must go through the “parched place” or desert.
This backside of the desert (or wilderness) experience is what prepares their heart for what is to come. To be ready to take their rightful place of authority in the kingdom, under Christ’s headship. This season of tribulation which we are now entering, is designed by God to be just that, a wilderness experience. We as believers have two options. We can walk in by choice, or wait for the rug to be pulled out underneath us. Either way, everyone on this earth is going into tribulation, unless they die physically in the process.
Our Mission- Preparing the Fields
First Light Ministries together with Fields of Zion International are tasked with helping the body of Christ navigate these troubled waters. For those who desire to enter their wilderness season by faith, a great adventure awaits. They will be planted in God’s greenhouse/nursery, where they will receive the perfect mix of sun, soil, nutrients and water; allowing them to grow very quickly, during this time.
Think of it this way… We as believers have a choice as to what kind of plant we desire to be. We can choose to be wheat, bearing fruit only once and then die. We can be choose to be a grape vine, which bears a little, over and over. Or we can choose to be a giant fruit tree, bearing year after year. These trees not only provide an abundance of fruit, but also stand as a shelter to those around them. The birds of the air and flocks of the fields find refuge under their branches. Trees of Righteousness, the planting of the Lord!
Fields of Zion International is about establishing Kingdom Nurseries… Playschools, where God can raise up His Remnant church in these days. If this sounds like the adventure of a lifetime, well jump aboard as we set sail on an incredible journey.
